Biography

Charles (Chas) Barnett, IV, is an associate with Spragins, Barnett & Cobb's Litigation Department, practicing on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants in various areas of litigation including employment discrimination, overtime claims, worker's compensation, personal injury, premises liability, products liability, and wrongful death. Mr. Barnett joined Spragins, Barnett & Cobb in 2018 and practices with his father, Charles Barnett, III, who leads the litigation section and his sister, Sara Barnett, a partner in the Firm. Mr. Barnett is dedicated to the success of the Firm's clients and has a variety of practice areas which enhance his knowledge in the most complicated of cases.Mr. Barnett is a 2011 graduate of Birmingham Southern College where he was awarded a Bachelor of Art Degree in philosophy and is a 2018 graduate of the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law where he was awarded a Doctor of Jurisprudence. While at the University of Memphis, Mr. Barnett was a member of the Moot Court Board and won the Mock Trial Competition. In addition, Mr Barnett was awarded the Cali Award of Excellence for Product Liability. He is a member of the Howell Edmunds Jackson American Inn of Court.

Mr. Barnett was accepted to the Tennessee State Bar and is admitted to practice before the Tennessee Supreme Court, Tennessee Trial and Appellate Courts and the United States District Court for the Western and Eastern District of Tennessee as well as the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Barnett is a lifelong resident of Jackson, Tennessee, where he resides with his wife. Mr. Barnett enjoys a good barbecue while reading Ralph Waldo Emerson.
